Atlantic Health Hackettstown Medical Center is seeking a Per Diem Environmental Aide (Housekeeping) for the Environmental Services Department. Starting rate is $21.21/hr. Hours vary, including every other weekend.

This position qualifies for the Atlantic Health System teen-hiring initiative (specific shifts). Prior housekeeping experience in healthcare or related field is preferred, with 1-2 years of customer service in healthcare or hospitality.

Qualifications

• Must have HS Diploma or GED and be able to obtain within 1 year.
• Able to read, write and speak English for safe operations.
• Solid work history required.
• Must meet fit testing requirements.
• Able to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs.
• Must be 16 or older with NJA300 Working Papers.

Responsibilities

• General cleaning, empty trash, dusting, mop floors and sanitize rooms.
• Clean bathrooms, replace soiled linen and dispose debris.
• Clean patient rooms and spacious areas, including bodily fluids as needed.

Essential Function/Responsibilities:

• General cleaning, empty trash, high/low dusting, mop floors, sanitize all furniture inpatient rooms, clean commode, clean bathrooms and discard debris, remove soiled linen and replace with fresh linen in patient rooms.
• Position includes cleaning of bodily fluids.

Requirements:

• HS Diploma or GED/Equivalent required or will obtain within 1 year of employment.
• To provide a safe environment to our patients, we require that all candidates must be able to read, write and speak English.
• Solid work history a must.
• Need to meet the fit testing requirement.
• Must be able to lift, push, pull up to 50 lbs.
• Must be 16 or older (prior to hire, must complete NJA300 Combined Certification Form/Working Papers).
• If 16 or 17 years-old, valid working papers required.

Relevant Experience:

• Prior experience in housekeeping in either a hospital or institutional setting or a related field preferred.
• Prior Floor-care experience preferred.
• 1-2 years of customer service experience in healthcare, hospitality or relevant area preferred.
