Position Summary:

We are seeking a seasoned and strategic Senior EHS Manager to lead the environmental, health, and safety programs. This role will ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, drive a proactive safety culture, and lead 6S and continuous improvement in EHS performance across all departments. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with deep EHS expertise.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive EHS programs aligned with OSHA, EPA, and state regulations.
  2. Lead the facility's safety culture transformation by proactively identifying risks and promoting accountability.
  3. Monitor compliance with environmental permits (air, water, waste) and manage reporting to regulatory agencies.
  4. Prepare training and maintain records.
  5. Conduct root cause analyses for incidents and near misses; implement corrective and preventive actions with follow-up.
  6. Oversee emergency preparedness plans and lead EHS training across all levels of staff.
  7. Partner with leadership, operations, and engineering teams to integrate EHS into business processes.
  8. Prepare or oversee submission of timely reports (e.g., OSHA 300 logs, Tier II, TRI, Stormwater).
  9. Manage audits, inspections, and interactions with regulatory bodies.
  10. Lead EHS initiatives for sustainability and corporate responsibility as applicable.
Qualifications:
  1. An Associate's degree in Business or Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field (bachelor's preferred).
  2. 5+ years of EHS experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial or senior role.
  3. Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, and Iowa-specific regulations.
  4. Proven experience in manufacturing or industrial settings.
  5. Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  6. Certifications such as CSP, CIH, CHMM, or PE are highly desirable.
  7. Proficient in Microsoft Office suite or similar software.
  8. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  9. Strong Environmental skills.

  1. Data-driven decision-making and metrics reporting.
  2. Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage change.
  3. Workers' Compensation knowledge and expertise.
Work Environment:
  1. On-site at facility.
  2. Will include travel to other local facilities.
  3. Occasional travel for training outside of state.
