Job summary

Tredegar Surface Protection LLC is seeking an experienced Environmental Health & Safety Manager to lead and maintain site EH&S processes, systems, and policies. In this role you will set high safety standards and drive improvements to reduce injuries, incidents, and environmental impact.

You will champion the Safety Steering Committee, coordinate training, ensure regulatory compliance with OSHA/EPA and state programs, and partner with engineering to embed safety into projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 5–8 years of relevant experience.
• Leadership/management experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated experience implementing safety and environmental management systems (e.g., ISO).
• CSM or CSP certification is a plus.

• Lead and manage site EH&S processes and systems for employees, contractors, and visitors.
• Ensure safety performance and regulatory compliance across the site.
• Prepare and submit regulatory reports (e.g., PADEP reports) and maintain records.

Job description

Tredegar Surface Protection is seeking an experienced Environmental Health & Safety Manager to lead and maintain site EH&S processes, systems, and policies. In this highly visible role, you will set high standards for safety performance in a safety-first environment, guide regulatory compliance, and drive improvements that reduce injuries, incidents, employee exposure, and environmental impact. You will also champion the Safety Steering Committee, lead the safety teams within the Tredegar First Class (TFC) process, support pillar-team initiatives, and serve on the plant’s TFC Steering Team.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage site Health, Safety & Environmental processes and systems for employees, contractors, and visitors.
• Manage and administer safety processes to ensure safety performance and regulatory compliance.
• Monitor safety compliance in accordance with corporate policy and applicable government regulations.
• Ensure compliance with Tier II, Form R313, NPDES, air emissions, regulatory waste, and other applicable federal and state requirements.
• Prepare and submit required regulatory reports, including Discharge Monitoring Reports and monthly, bi-annual, and annual electronic reporting to PADEP.
• Prepare required reports and statistics for stewardship and regulatory purposes.
• Submit required reports for the storm water permit.
• Administer and integrate new rules and regulations related to OSHA, NIOSH, EPA, Division, and other applicable requirements.
• Ensure new rules and regulations are safely integrated into manufacturing processes.
• Coordinate and participate in safety, health, and environmental assessments and surveys.
• Conduct industrial hygiene surveys for potential atmospheric contamination.
• Coordinate dosimetry testing for departmental and specific areas.
• Coordinate all audiometric testing and effectively manage any potential standard threshold shifts.
• Partner with engineering to design safety standards into projects and equipment; review safety and ergonomic aspects of planned projects and make recommendations.
• Design, implement, and maintain Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) policies.
• Lead and conduct accident investigations, including completing documentation, reporting work-related injuries to ESIS, and coordinating with HR and medical professionals as appropriate.
• Manage and address all injury case management situations.
• Coordinate safety training activities and prepare and present training and business presentations related to HSE.
• Champion the Safety Steering Committee and sponsor the TFC Safety Team.
• Coordinate and provide leadership for safety committees.
• Manage sub-team and SERT team plant and department activities.
• Develop close working relationships with Occupational Healthcare providers.
• Initiate wellness activities for the facility.

Qualifications

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree and five to eight years of relevant experience in a related field preferred.
• Leadership or management experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment preferred.
• Demonstrated experience implementing safety and environmental management systems, such as ISO.
• Relevant safety certification, such as Certified Safety Manager (CSM) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP), is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required.
• An equivalent combination of education, experience, and training may be considered.
• Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
