Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive EH&S experience in manufacturing/industrial environments.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910 and applicable EPA/state regs.
• Experience managing regulatory compliance, permits, inspections, audits, and reporting.
• Proven ability to lead investigations, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.

This is a highly visible, hands‑on leadership role responsible for building and maintaining a strong safety culture while ensuring compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements.

The successful candidate will bring a proactive approach to safety, strong knowledge of regulatory requirements, and the ability to engage employees at all levels of the organization. What You'll Be Doing:

• Lead the facility’s environmental, health, and safety programs, ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, state, and local regulatory requirements.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory inspections, audits, reporting, and related compliance activities.
• Develop, implement, and continuously improve EH&S policies, procedures, and programs across the facility.
• Lead investigations into workplace incidents, near misses, and environmental events, conducting root cause analysis and implementing effective corrective actions.
• Conduct facility audits, job hazard analyses, risk assessments, and industrial hygiene evaluations to proactively identify and mitigate workplace hazards.
• Develop and deliver safety training covering areas such as lockout/tagout, hazard communication, confined space, PPE, emergency response, and other applicable programs.
• Manage environmental compliance activities, including air, water, and waste permits, waste disposal, spill prevention, and regulatory reporting.
• Track and analyze key safety metrics, including TRIR, DART, near misses, and other leading and lagging indicators, providing regular reporting and recommendations to leadership.
• Maintain emergency response plans, coordinate drills, and build effective relationships with local emergency response organizations.
• Champion employee engagement and behavior-based safety initiatives that promote accountability and a proactive safety culture.
• Partner closely with operations, engineering, maintenance, and leadership teams to integrate EH&S considerations into day‑to‑day operations and improvement initiatives.
• Ensure documentation, training records, permits, and compliance materials remain accurate, current, and audit-ready.

What You'll Need to Be Successful:

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of progressive EH&S experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations, including 29 CFR 1910, as well as applicable EPA and state environmental requirements.
• Demonstrated experience managing regulatory compliance, permits, inspections, audits, and reporting.
• Hands‑on experience conducting incident investigations, root cause analysis, risk assessments, and corrective action planning.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing safety programs and best practices, including lockout/tagout, confined space, PPE, hazard communication, and emergency preparedness.
• Proven ability to influence and engage employees at all levels while building a strong culture of safety and accountability.
• Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
• CSP, CIH, CHMM, or similar professional certification is considered an asset.
• Experience with ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 management systems is preferred.
• Experience with PSM/RMP programs is considered an asset where applicable.
• Ability to work primarily on‑site in a manufacturing environment and respond to emergency situations when required.
