Job summary

SAVI EHS on-site in Washington, DC seeks an experienced EHS Manager to lead daily safety operations on a live construction project. You will partner with project leadership, superintendents, subcontractors, and field personnel to maintain OSHA compliance and a safe, productive site.

The right candidate has 5–7 years of construction safety experience, OSHA 1926 knowledge, and BCSP certification (CHST/ASP/CSP), with a proven track record managing subcontractor safety programs on active sites in DC.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of construction safety experience with a General Contractor.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary EHS representative on site.
• Implement and enforce project safety plans, AHAs/JHAs, and client requirements.
• Conduct daily site inspections, audits, and safety observations.
• Track corrective actions and close them timely.
• Lead incident, near-miss, and hazard investigations with root cause analysis.
• Interface with project management, subcontractors, owners' reps, and regulators.
• Conduct site orientations, toolbox talks, and safety meetings.
• Monitor safety trends, metrics, and documentation.
• Support high-risk activities (cranes, rigging, MEWPs, excavation, electrical safety, LOTO).

This individual will work closely with project leadership, superintendents, subcontractors, and field personnel to support daily safety operations and maintain compliance with project-specific and OSHA safety requirements.

Position Summary

We are seeking a qualified Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager with 5-7 years of direct experience who can independently manage site safety operations and partner with project leadership to maintain a safe, compliant job site.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the primary EHS representative for the client on site
• Implement and enforce project-specific safety plans, AHAs/JHAs, and client requirements
• Perform daily site inspections, audits, and safety observations
• Track corrective actions and ensure timely closure
• Lead incident, near-miss, and hazard investigations with root cause analysis
• Interface with project management, subcontractors, owners' representatives, and regulatory agencies
• Conduct site orientations, toolbox talks, and safety meetings
• Monitor safety trends, metrics, and compliance documentation
• Support high-risk activities including cranes, rigging, MEWPs, excavation, electrical safety, and LOTO

Required Qualifications

• 5-7 years of construction safety experience, representing a General Contractor
• Strong knowledge of OSHA 1926 Construction Standards
• OSHA 30 required (OSHA 510 preferred)
• BCSP certification required : CHST, ASP, or CSP
• Demonstrated experience managing subcontractor safety compliance
• Strong leadership, communication, and documentation skills
• Ability to work full-time on site in Washington, DC

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with safety management platforms (iAuditor, Procore, Predictive Solutions, etc.)
