Job summary

Building Restoration Services is seeking a Building Envelope Consultant to investigate, diagnose, and design envelope repair strategies across Massachusetts, focusing on I-495 belt projects. You will conduct field investigations, review records, and develop practical, constructible repair options with cost considerations.

The role combines office analysis and on-site work, requiring strong communication with owners, designers, and contractors.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of building-envelope consulting, engineering, architecture, building science, or closely related restoration experience.
• Experience diagnosing water-infiltration and building-envelope performance problems.
• Experience preparing condition-assessment reports, repair recommendations, scopes of work, and construction documents.
• Strong written, verbal, organizational, and client-facing communication skills.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel throughout the I-495 belt.

Responsibilities

• Meet with owners and facilities personnel to understand building concerns and objectives.
• Review drawings, repair history, leak records, and previous consultant reports.
• Plan and perform detailed building-envelope assessments and field investigations.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, and construction personnel as needed.
• Prepare professional reports with observations, conclusions, and repair recommendations.
• Develop scopes of work and bid documents, and assist with bid comparisons.
