Job summary

Imperative Logistics is seeking a Customs Entry Writer in Laredo to file entries with U.S. Customs and other agencies, and to liaise with importers, truckers and warehouses via email and phone.

The role requires knowledge of ACE entries, PGA requirements, and strong professional communication. Prior Customs brokerage or freight forwarding background is a plus; CargoWise experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in processing Customs entries in ACE.
• Understanding of PGA requirements.
• Professional communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Proven understanding of the Customs entry process requirements and flow.
• Customer-focused can-do attitude.
• Ability to follow standard operating procedures specific to a client.
• Proficient in CargoWise operating system.
• Customs Brokerage and/or Freight forwarding operational background preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Clearing goods through customs, coordinating with FDA, USDA and other agencies.
• Classifying goods according to tariff coding system.
• Preparing and processing import documentation according to customs regulations.
• Arrange for payment of taxes and duties on shipments.
• Bill customers.
• Sign documents on behalf of clients using powers of attorney.
• Monitor or trace the location of goods.
• Assist clients in obtaining necessary documentation.
• Arrange for transportation or warehousing of imported products.
