Job Summary:



The Department of Ophthalmology participates in multiple sponsored and investigator-initiated clinical trials for diseases and disorders of the eye.Our involvement in a wide variety of studies including surveys, observational, interventional, device and drug trials contribute valuable knowledge for the ophthalmic community at large. The clinical trials lab is seeking a 1.0 FTE entry-senior professional to support the lab.


Key Responsibilities / Duties:


Entry



  • Obtain study subject's medical history and current medication information, reviews research protocolinclusion/exclusioncriteria,andconfirmseligibilityofsubjecttoparticipateinclinicaltrial

  • Perform informed consent process or ensures that the informed consent process has occurred, isproperlydocumented, andthatinformedconsentformdocumentsare filedasrequired

  • Interview prospective subjects for a variety of research clinical trials. Educate potential subjects on thedetails ofthe studiesthroughphonecontacts andpersonalinterviews

  • Schedule subject participation in research clinical trial, coordinating availability of necessary space,andclinicalresearch support(e.g., physician,nursepractitioner,laboratory, radiology,pharmacy)

  • Collect,code,andanalyzedataobtained fromresearch inanaccurateandtimely manner

  • Adhereto researchregulatory standards

  • Maintain detailed records of studies to ensure compliance with requirements of the Food and DrugAdministration (FDA), study protocols, department, hospital/clinical standard operating proceduresandotherregulatory guidelines

  • Participate in subject recruitment efforts, including communicating with patients expressing aninterestand allpre-screening/screening activities

  • Ensurethatthe necessarysuppliesand equipmentforstudiesareinstock andinworkingorder


Intermediate - all of the above, plus:



  • Independently master study materials, including but not limited to protocols, informed consent forms,andallotheressentialstudydocuments forassigned studies

  • Independently perform study related processes, procedures, and assessments as defined in studyprotocoland in compliancewith regulating bodies

  • Assist Team Leads, Supervisors and/or management with creation and implementation of processesandproceduresand quality improvementinitiatives

  • ActasaPrimaryCoordinatoronmultipletrials/studies

  • Assistandtrainjuniorteammembers


Senior - all of the above, plus:



  • Assist with developing or develops protocol-specific systems and documents including process flows,training manuals, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Case Report Forms (CRFs). Maintainssubjectleveldocumentation and preparesdocuments, equipmentand/orsupplies

  • Assist with identifying issues related to operational efficiency and shares results with leadership

  • Collect information to determine feasibility, recruitment and retention strategies. Employ, evaluate and assist with the implementation of innovative solutions to maximize recruitment and retention

  • Serve as a resource and participate in study initiation and close out duties


All ranks:



  • Performs ophthalmic testing including protocol specified refraction, visual acuity, tonometry, pachymetry, perimetry, imaging and vitals.

Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, CO.

Anticipated Pay Range:



The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as:


Entry Professional: $48,446-$61,623


Intermediate Professional: $52,721- $67,061


Senior Professional: $56,995 - $72,498


The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
