Job summary

Trinity Industries, Inc. is hiring a Career NDT Quality Inspector at our Saginaw, TX plant to support quality inspection of railcar components and assemblies.

You will perform visual and dimensional inspections, apply NDE methods, and ensure conformance to standards as part of a manufacturing team. The role requires basic inspection knowledge, the ability to learn NDE certifications within six months, and work under supervision of a Level II or III inspector.

Qualifications

  • In training or entry level position.
  • Basic knowledge of inspection tools and measuring equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of the product or process to be inspected.
  • Ability to obtain NDE certifications within 6 months under supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Perform visual and measured inspections to ensure conformance with standards.
  • Inspect incoming materials, outgoing materials, or products during manufacturing.
  • Apply single or multiple inspection processes using appropriate NDE methods.
  • Maintain, adjust or calibrate inspection equipment.
  • Complete inspection records and reports.
  • Follow applicable codes, procedures and standards.
  • Support safety initiatives and CI activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What you'll do:
  • Makes visual and measured inspection of products the majority of the time to ensure conformance with standards and determines if product meets all requirements.
  • May inspect incoming materials, outgoing materials, or products or assemblies throughout the manufacturing process.
  • May apply singular or multiple inspection processes using various appropriate NDE methods.
  • Able to maintain, adjust or calibrate inspection equipment.
  • Completes inspection records and reports.
  • Familiar with appropriate codes, regulations, applicable procedures & standards.
  • Follows all safety rules and practices.
  • May be involved in safety committees or CI initiatives.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • For new hires previous work experience and/or certifications may be considered for the corresponding job level position.
What you'll need:

  • Basic knowledge of inspection tools and measuring equipment ·
  • Basic knowledge of operational function to be inspected ·
  • Ability to achieve appropriate NDE certifications within 6 months ·
  • Under supervision of a Level II or III Certified NDT Inspector.
