Job summary

TIC - The Industrial Company is seeking an entry-level helper to assist skilled craftspersons performing supportive duties under supervision. You will learn to handle hand and power tools, assist with assembly and equipment placement, and support installation projects on-site in Greenville, MS.

This role requires basic tool knowledge, the ability to follow instructions, and a willingness to work outdoors in varying conditions.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Must possess knowledge, skills and abilities for position.
Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management/supervision.
Field experience in chosen craft discipline.
Knowledge of the safe and efficient use of hand tools, power tools and layout tools.

Responsibilities

Learn to use hand and power tools to measure, cut, assemble and align machinery.
Assist with reviewing and verifying inventory of equipment/machine components; prepare foundation for grouting and machinery placement; establish centerlines and elevations.
Assist skilled craftsmen when torqueing equipment and machinery; properly rig equipment and direct crane operators on placement; test and adjust as needed.
Dismantle machines using hammers, wrenches, crowbars and other hand tools; move machinery using hoists, dollies and rollers.
Assemble and install equipment; align machines using hoists, jacks, hand tools and plumb bobs; attach to foundations.
