  4. Test Procedures & Evaluation: Write test procedures, compile and evaluate design and test data, and prepare technical specifications to ensure systems meet performance and safety standards.
  5. Research and Development: Plan, design, develop, modify, and evaluate auxiliary systems, mechanical and electro-mechanical components, controls, engines, machines, and thermal hydraulic systems for naval vessels.
Qualifications:

Required:

  • BS in Mechanical, Marine, Aerospace, or Civil Engineering (or equivalent experience) with 1-3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, material science, and mechanics of materials.
  • Ability to analyze and solve mechanical problems proactively with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD software for detailed system and machinery drawings.
  • Effective teamwork and communication skills for technical reports and collaboration.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.

Desired:

  • Shipboard and/or shipyard experience.
  • Knowledge of US Navy and/or US commercial ship design standards.
  • Experience with MSC marine engineering practices.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard engineering software including AutoCAD, PIPE-FLO, ShipConstructor, NAVISWORKS, or similar tools.
