Job summary

The South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) is seeking an entry level specialist to provide case management coordination for youth referred to DJJ, including assessment, interviewing, planning, monitoring, advocacy, and intervention. This role involves serving as primary case manager, coordinating services, promoting restorative justice, and preparing supervision plans.

A bachelor's degree in social science or equivalent is required; strong communication and coordination skills are

• Knowledge of juvenile justice laws/regulations.
• Ability to organize and manage a caseload.
• Strong written and spoken communication skills.
• Experience with community collaboration initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary case manager for youth referred to DJJ.
• Interview youths and families to assess functioning, strengths, and needs.
• Monitor compliance with court orders.
• Provide alternatives to incarceration through graduated responses and STAP.
• Develop comprehensive supervision plans and needs-based case management.
• Advocate for youth and families to ensure timely services.
• Prepare reports and participate in meetings.
