Xcel Energy is looking for an entry-level Distribution Electrical Engineer to support protection and resiliency initiatives in Amarillo or Lubock. You will develop expertise in medium voltage protection, EPSS, and field-driven mitigation while collaborating with operations teams.

Ideal candidates have an ABET-accredited EE degree, 0+ years of experience, and may hold EIT/FE credentials. The role offers growth across staff, senior, and principal levels with supervised responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Entry-level position designed to develop technical expertise in protection, resiliency, and grid reliability.
• EIT/FE strongly preferred; Electrical Engineering degree from ABET-accredited program preferred.
• 0+ years of engineering experience acceptable for entry level with potential mentorship.

Responsibilities

• Applies technical standards and concepts to assignments of limited scope.
• Supports technical documentation and development of procedures.
• Provides field engineering support under supervision for projects.
• Coordinates projects or portions of projects with oversight.
• Assists with bid evaluations and prepares basic analyses.
• Communicates technical information across teams and vendors.
• May supervise interns or junior staff and pursue self-development.
