Job summary

Freedom Waterworks in Houston, TX, is seeking a Junior Welder to join our shop floor. This entry-level role performs basic welding, fitting, grinding, cutting, and material preparation under supervision, following work orders and drawings.

You will develop welding skills through hands-on training, maintain a clean, safe work area, wear PPE, and contribute to production timelines. No prior experience required beyond basic welding knowledge; school or shop exposure is a plus.

Qualifications

• Entry-level welding position with 0–1 year of experience preferred.
• Welder school or shop exposure is a plus but not required.
• Ability to read a tape measure and take basic measurements.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Willingness to learn welding and fabrication processes.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic welding using appropriate welding processes and equipment.
• Weld and join metal components according to instructions, drawings, or work orders.
• Assist with fitting and positioning materials prior to welding.
• Use grinders, cutting tools, measuring devices, and other basic fabrication equipment.
• Inspect completed welds for basic quality and workmanship.
• Follow established welding procedures and quality standards.
• Maintain welding equipment and report damaged or malfunctioning equipment.
• Keep the work area clean and organized.
• Follow all company safety policies and wear required PPE.
• Assist experienced welders and other shop employees as needed.
• Complete assigned work accurately and within expected production timelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
