Job summary

River to Tap, Inc. (R2T) is seeking an entry-level Water/Wastewater Engineer for our Alexandria, VA office. You will contribute to municipal water and wastewater projects, including planning, design, and construction management, under supervision.

Ideal candidates have 0–2 years of experience, a BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering, CAD proficiency, and strong communication skills. This hybrid role requires in-office work in Alexandria, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in engineering and consulting
• BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering required
• Proficiency in CAD-based software required
• Proficient with MS Office Suite
• Authorized to work in the United States
• Clear written and oral communication skills
• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
• Team player and collaborative
• Hybrid work in Alexandria, VA

Responsibilities

• Prepare engineering calculations and assist in drawings and visual aids
• Develop plans for water treatment, storage and distribution systems
• Develop plans for wastewater collection, conveyance, and treatment systems
• Create and review investigation reports, specifications and memos
• Prepare design reports and alternatives analyses for infrastructure projects
• Conduct on-site assessments and document issues
• Develop technical solutions for water, wastewater and stormwater facilities
• Review submittals and RFIs for construction projects
• Provide asset management support for capital planning
• Work under supervision of a project manager or senior staff
• Must be willing to travel to job sites as necessary
