American States Utility Services, Inc. is seeking a Treatment Plant Operator I to operate and maintain water treatment facilities for federal installations. This entry-level role involves routine rounds, log updates, chemical handling, and 24/7 emergency readiness.

You will monitor SCADA systems, collect samples for lab testing, perform basic calculations, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements while working with various equipment and dedicated teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License.
• Must complete OSHA and regulatory safety training.
• Must possess Water and/or Wastewater Licenses or obtain within 24 months.
• Physical ability for standing, lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing, bending.
• Basic math and chemistry understanding for water treatment.
• Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Background check required.

Responsibilities

• Perform treatment plant rounds; monitor equipment and logs.
• Operate pumps, motors, and feeders to maintain operations.
• Maintain logs and perform mathematical calculations.
• Mix and apply chemicals; handle chlorine cylinders.
• Inspect and service plant machinery and equipment.
• Collect samples and perform water quality tests.
• Perform plant facility maintenance and grounds tasks.
• Operate heavy equipment as needed and observe safety rules.
• Comply with OSHA and ASUS safety standards.
• Available for after-hours and emergency response.
