Job summary

Mead & Hunt is seeking an Entry-Level Civil / Water Resources Engineer to join our Transportation team across Columbia, MD; Herndon VA; Washington, DC. You will assist with drainage and stormwater designs, run hydrology/hydraulics calculations, and coordinate with agencies and utilities.

A Bachelor’s in civil engineering is required, and candidates should either hold an EIT or be able to pass the FE exam within six months of hire.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or relevant field from an accredited college.
• EIT or ability to pass FE exam within six months of hire date.
• Transportation and/or hydrology and hydraulics coursework.

Responsibilities

• Assist design team with roadway drainage and stormwater designs.
• Perform hydrology and hydraulics design calculations and analyze projects.
• Coordinate with MDOT, municipalities, utilities, and regulatory agencies.
• Prepare or modify reports, plans, schedules, permits, and designs.
• Prepare design computations and quantity estimates.
• Assist with quantity take-offs and cost estimates.
