Job summary

Mead & Hunt is seeking an Experienced Water Resources Engineer to join our Transportation team in Columbia, MD, with additional opportunities in Herndon, VA and Washington, DC. The role focuses on drainage, hydrology, and stormwater design for roadway and site projects.

The successful candidate will hold a civil/environmental engineering degree, have 4+ years of drainage design experience, and be a licensed Professional Engineer (MD PE or eligibility to obtain within 6 months).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil/environmental engineering from an accredited college.
• At least 4 years of relevant drainage/stormwater design experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Maryland PE or ability to obtain within 6 months of start date.

Responsibilities

• Assist design team with drainage and stormwater designs.
• Perform hydrology and hydraulics calculations for roadway drainage.
• Prepare reports, specifications, plans, and designs for projects.
• Coordinate with utility owners, MDOT, municipalities and regulatory agencies.
• Some travel will be required.
