Job summary

Granite Construction is hiring a Pump Tech in Fort Myers, FL. This entry-level role supports Operators with water pump installation and conducts routine mechanical work on water well pumps. The job involves outdoor work, safety compliance, and teamwork to meet project goals.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED and are willing to travel, with per diem and travel pay for overnight stays as needed. CDL and NCCOA training are a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Construction site experience preferred.
• Must be mechanically inclined; hydraulic pumps a plus.
• Must be dependable and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally; stand 10–12 hours.

Responsibilities

• Ensure adherence to safety and quality procedures to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
• Lift and move pipe and pump components weighing up to 50 lbs, and assist with components up to 100 lbs.
• Operate and maintain service trucks, cranes, boom trucks, generators, engines, pumps and other equipment.
• Collaborate with the crew and work independently to accomplish tasks and meet deadlines.
• Maintain records of time, materials, and other paperwork for proper documentation.
• Assist in installation, troubleshooting, and repair of water pumps.
• Load and unload trucks with equipment and materials for smooth logistics.
• Transport equipment between sites and set up for jobs.
• Collect and label water samples for analysis.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
