Job summary

Granite Construction is seeking an entry-level Pump Tech to assist with water pump installation, troubleshooting, and routine mechanical tasks at outdoor job sites.

The role involves operating service trucks and equipment, lifting heavy components, and traveling to sites with overnight stays up to two weeks.

A high school diploma or GED is required; CDL Class A or B is a plus; construction site experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Good organizational skills.
• Able to work in small teams successfully.
• Must be mechanically inclined; hydraulic pumps a plus.
• Must be able to travel overnight up to 2 weeks; job sites vary across the nation.
• Must be dependable and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the installation, troubleshooting, and repair of water pumps to ensure optimal performance.
• Drive equipment to job sites - CDL A or B preferred.
• Lift and move pipe and pump components weighing up to 50 lbs.; assist with up to 100 lbs.
• Operate and maintain service trucks, cranes, boom trucks, generators, engines, pumps, and other equipment.
• Collaborate with the crew and work independently to meet project goals and deadlines.
• Maintain records of time, materials, and required paperwork.
