Job summary

City of Caldwell is seeking an Operator I for the Wastewater Treatment Plant to perform entry-level, general labor, semi-skilled and skilled tasks ensuring efficient operation of plant components and treatment processes.

The role involves working outdoors, handling hazardous exposures, and collaborating with city staff and other agencies. On-call shifts and 10-hour days across 4 days per week are required.

Qualifications

• At least one year of general labor, semi-skilled and skilled maintenance tasks.
• Experience with operation/maintenance of wastewater equipment is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine tasks related to facilities and grounds upkeep and maintenance.
• Operate and assist in operation of plant equipment and vehicles as needed.
• Monitor plant processes, check equipment, and ensure proper operations.
• Cross-train with collection system operators.
• Respond to on-call and after-hours duties as required.
• Document findings and activities in logs.
• Assist in laboratory sampling and basic tests as part of plant operations.
