Job summary

Job Description:

Job Purpose

To operate a piece of equipment with repetitive functions to process raw material into specified wood product.

In this position you will have the opportunity to:
  • Operate Debarker, Waferizer, Green screeners, and associated belt conveyors to process the specified wood supply
  • Assist with knife changes
  • Complete required downtime, drops per hour reports and documents
  • Clean and maintain equipment
  • Assist in general maintenance tasks for equipment
  • Perform other duties as necessary.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations.
What do I need to be successful?

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of waferizer equipment operation.
  • Knowledge of general equipment maintenance.
  • Time management skills.
  • Demonstrated mechanical ability.
  • Ability to read and understand safety rules and regulations.

Education:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.

Experience:

  • 3 – 6 months experience in a manufacturing environment with equipment operation preferred.
  • Or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.
Work Environment

Plant environment with exposure to sawdust, chemicals, extreme temperatures, and other inclement conditions.
