Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Voice, Data, Security (VDS) Engineer to join our Life Sciences North America Team. Location options include hybrid work out of Conshohocken, PA, Cincinnati, OH, Indianapolis, IN, Cary, NC, Houston, TX, or Richmond, VA.

The role involves CAD/design of electrical power, lighting, fire alarm, and communications systems for advanced facilities. You’ll use AutoCAD and Revit to develop layouts and 2D/3D models, coordinating with designers and leads to deliver complex packages.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering or related field.
• 1 year experience designing Communications/Security Systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and time management skills.
• Ability to work in the U.S. without sponsorship, now or in the future.
• Ideally, 3.0 GPA or higher.
• Local to Life Sciences North America offices.
• NCEES FE exam familiarity.
• AutoCAD and Revit experience.
• Exposure to NEC and electrical design requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform CAD drafting and design of electrical power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and communications systems for client facilities.
• Create layouts, sketches, 2D/3D modeling, and electronic document files using AutoCAD and Revit.
• Coordinate delivery of complex packages with designers and design leads as part of the delivery team.

We're looking for a Voice, Data, Security (VDS) Engineer to join our Life Sciences North America Team. Location options include hybrid work out of either Conshohocken, PA, Cincinnati, OH, Indianapolis, IN, Cary, NC, Houston, TX, or Richmond, VA. Utilizing AutoCAD and Revit, you’ll create layouts, sketches, 2D/3D modeling, and electronic document files. Our engineers are responsible for delivery of complex packages in coordination with designers and design leads and form the core of our delivery team

Here’s what you’ll need

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering or any closely related Engineering Degree
• 1 years' experience actively designing Communications/Security Systems (internship or professional experience accepted)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong interpersonal and time management skills
• Self-motivation to coordinate with other disciplines and customers
• Ability to work in the U.S. without the need for sponsorship, now or in the future

Ideally, you’ll also have

• 3.0 GPA or higher
• Local to one of our Life Sciences North America offices, without the need to relocate
• Passed the NCEES Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam Familiarity with ANSI/TIA and BISCI standards
• Familiarity with CSI Divisions 27 & 28
• AutoCAD design experience
• Revit Design Experience
• Exposure to NEC and electrical design requirements

The base salary range for this position is $65,500.00 to $99,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
