Job summary

Jacobs seeks a Voice, Data, Security (VDS) Engineer for the Life Sciences North America Team. Hybrid work options across Conshohocken, Cincinnati, Indianapolis, Cary, Houston, or Richmond, delivering CAD designs for advanced facilities.

You will draft electrical systems, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and apply NEC/standards knowledge to meet client goals and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Communications Engineering.
• 1 year of designing communications/security systems (internship or professional).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and time management skills.
• Self-motivation to coordinate with other disciplines and customers.
• Ability to work in the U.S. without sponsorship, now or in the future.
• 3.0 GPA or higher (preferred).
• Local to one of our Life Sciences North America offices (preferred).
• Familiarity with NEC, ANSI/TIA and BISCI standards.
• AutoCAD and Revit design experience.

We're looking for a Voice, Data, Security (VDS) Engineer to join our Life Sciences North America Team. Location options include hybrid work out of either Conshohocken, PA, Cincinnati, OH, Indianapolis, IN, Cary, NC, Houston, TX, or Richmond, VA. You’ll thrive as you perform computer-aided drafting and design of electrical power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and communication systems for our client’s advanced facilities. Utilizing AutoCAD and Revit, you’ll create layouts, sketches, 2D/3D modeling, and electronic document files. Our engineers are responsible for delivery of complex packages in coordination with designers and design leads and form the core of our delivery team

Here’s what you’ll need

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering or any closely related Engineering Degree
• 1 years' experience actively designing Communications/Security Systems (internship or professional experience accepted)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong interpersonal and time management skills
• Self-motivation to coordinate with other disciplines and customers
• Ability to work in the U.S. without the need for sponsorship, now or in the future

Ideally, you’ll also have

• 3.0 GPA or higher
• Local to one of our Life Sciences North America offices, without the need to relocate
• Passed the NCEES Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam Familiarity with ANSI/TIA and BISCI standards
• Familiarity with CSI Divisions 27 & 28
• AutoCAD design experience
• Revit Design Experience
• Exposure to NEC and electrical design requirements

The base salary range for this position is $65,500.00 to $99,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
