Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services is seeking an entry-level vascular ultrasound technologist to perform exams and acquire diagnostic images in inpatient and outpatient settings in Albuquerque, NM. You will develop proficiency toward board certification while following established safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of a two-year Allied Health, Ultrasound Technology, or related healthcare program required; bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine vascular ultrasound examinations in inpatient and outpatient settings to evaluate arterial and venous anatomy, blood flow, and potential vascular disease.
• Acquires high-quality diagnostic images and accurate measurements while progressing toward board certification.
• Applies knowledge of vascular anatomy, pathophysiology, and ultrasound principles to complete examinations and identify findings requiring additional imaging or physician review.
• Develops technical proficiency, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills under the guidance of experienced Level II and III Sonographers and mentors.
• Alerts physicians to critical findings and maintains timely communication with providers and nursing staff regarding examination results.
• Documents procedures, completes exam charges in the EHR, and initiates preliminary reports in PACS.
• Prepares examination rooms and equipment per infection prevention and safety standards.
• Ensures patient comfort, safety, and understanding throughout the examination process.
• Participates in competency development, continuing education, and vascular laboratory seminars.
• Collaborates with the team to support efficient patient care and departmental operations.
• Maintains required competencies and complies with policies and procedures.
