Job summary

Three Notch Group invites an entry‑level Utility Engineer I to support the preparation of constructible engineering documents under a licensed Professional Engineer. You will assist with design, reports, permits, cost estimates, and field activities while developing technical proficiency and licensure progress.

This role emphasizes collaboration with clients and multidisciplinary teams. You will gain office and field experience, participate in training, and pursue Engineer-in-Training

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Biosystems Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Zero to two years of experience.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Basic knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D or related engineering software.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organizational, interpersonal, and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with client communication and attend client or public meetings as needed.
• Use CAD tools to prepare engineering plans, reports, design documents, and construction documents.
• Visit project and construction sites to monitor progress and collect information.
• Support project quality-control activities and ensure accuracy of work.
• Read and interpret engineering and construction documents, regulations, and procedures.
• Prepare specifications, permits, plans, reports, and cost estimates under supervision.
