Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Planning, Urban Studies/Design, Architecture, Public Administration, Sociology, Geography, Engineering, or related field.
• Valid driver's license with good driving record.
• Knowledge of city policies and procedures.
• Basic knowledge of urban planning and design principles.
• Ability to research and analyze data.
• Strong written and oral communication; ability to interact with public.
• Ability to build relationships with stakeholders.
• Ability to explain programs to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Acts as main contact for planning office visitors and explains policies; processes applications; prepares reports for City Planning Commission.
• Compiles and analyzes data for planning purposes; reviews cases and coordinates with other departments.
• Prepares documents for presentations; edits reports and slides.
• Ensures approvals for applications and intake forms.
• Interacts with citizens and business groups to identify goals and respond to questions.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
