Job summary

Asplundh Tree Expert, LLC is seeking an Underground Distribution Groundperson in Charlotte, NC. This entry-level role builds toward a career maintaining and repairing underground distribution and transmission systems, with on-the-job training and a strong safety emphasis.

The position includes a competitive hourly rate, benefits, and pre-employment screenings. You will work with energized and de-energized lines, travel for out-of-state storms, and follow regional safety guidelines across field

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Follow directions, work safely and productively.
• Identify, operate and service required tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform new construction, maintenance or repair work on underground lines from ground level.
• Problem solve with unidentified circumstances on any job.
• Test and inspect assigned tools and equipment daily.
• Maintain company equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Excavate to install structures or cable as required by contract.
• Communicate work details to public and private property owners.
• Participate in regional safety training and follow safety policies.
• Operate tools like digging devices, wrenches, hammers, come-alongs, jackhammer.
• Report potential equipment and crew safety hazards to Foreperson.
