Job summary

Asplundh Tree Expert, LLC seeks an Overhead Distribution Journeyman Lineperson in Charlotte to install and repair overhead lines and equipment from aerial devices. The role covers excavation support, pole work, and transformer connections with a focus on safety and efficiency.

Expect long hours (often 10 hours/day), potential out-of-state storm travel, and mandatory pre-employment screenings. Benefits include health, 401(k), and holiday pay as part of a comprehensive rewards package.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• 4+ years of trade experience required.
• DOT medical card within 90 days of employment.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Commercial driver's license preferred within 90 days.
• Willing to travel out of state for emergencies.
• Ability to work from ground and aerial devices.

Responsibilities

• Works from aerial device installing and repairing overhead distribution lines and equipment.
• Excavates to assist in structure or cable installations as required.
• Makes primary connections and terminations.
• Assists with assembling material on the ground for installation.
• Makes secondary connections at transformers.
• Assists with pulling in new wire and sagging.
• Assists with replacing and setting poles.
• Generally works 10 hours per day.
• Maintains safe work areas and communicates with property owners.
• Adheres to regional safety guidelines and procedures.
