Job summary

Asplundh Tree Expert, LLC is seeking an Overhead Distribution Apprentice Lineperson in Durham to assist with construction and maintenance of overhead distribution lines and equipment. The role involves climbing poles, handling material, and supporting line personnel on site.

The position requires 1+ year of trade experience or formal training, a DOT medical card, and the ability to travel for emergency storm work. Benefits include health/dental/vision, disability insurance, and a 401(k) plan.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Willing to travel out of state for emergency storm work.
• Able to safely enter and exit aerial devices and bucket/derrick trucks.
• Able to work at heights and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Clear work area and maintain safe jobsite conditions.
• Assist with assembling material and work from ground to be installed by lineperson.
• Climb wooden poles to perform duties.
• Excavate to assist in structure or cable installations as required.
• Communicate work details to property owners as needed.
• Follow regional safety guidelines and policies.
• Operate tools such as digging devices, wrenches, drills, and power equipment.
• Work around energized parts with proper protection.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisors.
