Job summary

Texas Building Supply, a Division of USLBM Holdings, LLC, seeks a Truss Assembler I in San Antonio, TX. The role assembles truss components, stocks lumber and plates, and bands finished products for shipment.

You will read shop drawings and prepare materials to required specifications. Responsibilities include operating routers, saws, presses and staple guns, maintaining safety, and supporting production with quality, attendance, and teamwork.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent work experience required.
  • Prior carpentry experience preferred.
  • Must be able to read a tape measure and use a hammer.
  • Ability to learn to operate equipment such as routers, saws, presses, and staple guns.

Responsibilities

  • Lay out truss supplies and materials on carts or floor and stock plates for component set-up. Assemble components under the direction of the line leaders.
  • Load and band finished materials on carts/pallets inside and/or outside.
  • Receive incoming products, commodities, and materials.
  • Read shop drawings to identify plate sizes, plate gauges, girder truss nailing and bolt patterns; read stacking order when required.
  • Monitor production workflow process assisting other areas as needed.
  • Operate all equipment necessary to the assembly process.
  • Adhere to established safety rules and procedures; maintain a safe environment.
  • Maintain attendance and keep work areas clean and organized.
  • Provide excellent customer service and monitor inventory as required by location management.
