Job summary

Texas Building Supply, a Division of US LBM Holdings, LLC, is hiring a Truss Assembler I for our San Antonio yard. You will lay out truss supplies, stock plates, assemble components under line leaders, and prepare finished products for shipment.

This is a second-shift position with steady hours and safety-first procedures. Starting pay is $15.00 per hour, with opportunities to advance to higher truss roles as experience grows.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent work experience required.
• Prior carpentry experience preferred.
• Able to read a tape measure.

Responsibilities

• Lay out truss supplies and materials on carts or floor and stock plates for component set-up.
• Assemble components under the direction of the line leaders.
• Load and band finished materials on carts/pallets inside and/or outside.
• Receive incoming products, commodities, and materials.
• Read shop drawings to identify plate sizes, plate gauges, girder truss nailing and bolt patterns.
• Monitor production workflow process assisting other areas as needed.
• Operate all equipment necessary to the assembly process.
• Adhere to established safety rules and regulations and follows all safety procedures.

Texas Building Supply, a division of USLBM, serving the major markets in Texas with five building material yards and one window distribution facility across Austin, Houston, Dallas-Ft. Worth and San Antonio.

A Brief Overview

The Truss Assembler I is responsible for assembling truss components. This position will stock lumber, plates and other work-related materials and supplies. Will also band/stack finished products.

Location: 3700 Pitluk Avenue, San Antonio, TX 78211

2nd Shift Hours:

• Monday-Thursday 6:00pm to 4:30am
• Fridays 6:00pm to 2:30am if mandated by production schedule).

This shift is overnight, and its preferred that the candidate does not have a second job or school schedule that may cause a safety hazard for lack of rest during the work shift.

Pay Rate: Starting at $15.00 per hour.

What you will do

• Lay out truss supplies and materials on carts or floor and stock plates for component set-up. Assemble components under the direction of the line leaders.
• Load and band finished materials on carts/pallets inside and/or outside.
• Receive incoming products, commodities, and materials.
• Read shop drawings to identify plate sizes, plate gauges, girder truss nailing and bolt patterns. Read shop drawings to understand stacking order when required.
• Monitor production workflow process assisting other areas as needed.
• Operate all equipment necessary to the assembly process.
• Adhere to established safety rules and regulations and follows all safety procedures; maintain a safe environment.
• Comply with Company\'s attendance policy by maintaining regular and predictable attendance. Assist in maintaining an organized work environment which may include emptying trash receptacles and keeping all bays/staging areas clean and organized.
• Provide excellent customer service and participate in a positive work environment. Monitor inventory as required by location management.
• Retain an awareness of the work environment critical to the task at hand to produce error free and damage free results.
• Participate in and complete assigned trainings.
