Job summary

Asplundh Tree Expert, LLC is seeking a Trimmer Trainee to join our field operations in Michigan. This entry-level role involves outdoor manual labor, trimming and removing trees, operating and maintaining power tools, and assisting in the growth of a safe, efficient work crew.

Responsibilities include loading and unloading vehicles, feeding debris into woodchippers, and performing basic site maintenance while following safety protocols. No prior experience required, high school diploma preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Entry-level position, no experience required.
• Previous experience is a plus.
• Driver's License preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Trims and/or removes trees, branches, trunk sections.
• Operate and service all required tools/equipment.
• Cleans and splits large debris into pieces.
• Sprays areas with equipment to prevent growth.
• Loads/unloads trucks.
• Feeds brush & debris into a woodchipper.
• Repairs minor damage to lawns, fences, and walkways.
• Maintains and services tools and equipment.
• Relays signals, directs traffic, drives trucks as needed.
• Keeps trucks and work areas clean and orderly.
• Safeguards employees and the public from hazards.
• Cooperates with customers, police, and fire departments.
• Sets up barriers and signs to protect people.
• Trained to perform tree and bucket rescue.
• Assists in training new employees.
• Inspects tools and equipment and requests repairs when needed.
• Maintains housekeeping on trucks and sites.
• Performs other related work as assigned.
