Job summary

NC Department of Transportation in Guilford County is seeking an Engineer I (NS) to begin professional engineering work and support project design and data analysis. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in engineering; Professional Engineer licensure may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an applicable field of engineering from an accredited institution.
• Engineering licensure as a Professional Engineer may be required.
• Equivalent education/experience acceptable per policy.

Responsibilities

• Perform beginning level engineering work on transportation projects.
• Assist higher-level engineers on major or complex projects.
• Assess survey data for project design with minimal supervision.
• Support design through review and development of project data.
• Coordinate projects with in-house and Private Engineering Firms' field forces.
• Serve as primary contact to property owners during development.
