AMT is seeking an Entry Level Transportation Engineer to join our Richmond, VA team. This role offers a hybrid work schedule and the opportunity to work on diverse projects, supporting offices as needed. Upon graduation in December 2026, you will start contributing to civil design tasks and planning efforts with mentorship.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited institution.
• Engineering-in-Training Certification preferred or ability to obtain within 6–12 months.
• Internship or work experience with Municipal or State/US DOT projects is a plus.
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil3D and/or Bentley Microstation/InRoads or Open Roads preferred.
• Knowledge of civil engineering design and construction surveying concepts.
• Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel).
• Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, project managers, supervisors, and other team members.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support a variety of projects including data collection and analysis for engineering reports.
• Develop horizontal and vertical alignments, cross sections, design, site plans, and erosion/sediment control plans.
• Prepare stormwater, right-of-way, utility relocation plans, permit drawings, and traffic-related plans.
