Job summary

AMT is seeking an Entry Level Transportation Engineer in Richmond, VA, to join the Transportation team after graduation in December 2026. Hybrid work (office/remote) is available. You will support data collection, alignments, and plan development on municipal/State projects.

BS in Civil Engineering (ABET) required or imminent; EIT preferred. Previous internships are a plus. Competitive salary and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• Engineering-in-Training Certification (or ability to obtain in 6–12 months) preferred.
• Experience with AutoCAD/Civil3D and/or Bentley software preferred.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with project teams.
• Knowledge of civil design concepts and MS Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Support projects including data collection and analysis for engineering reports.
• Develop horizontal/vertical alignments, cross sections, and drainage concepts.
• Prepare site plans, erosion and sediment control plans, and permit drawings.
• Assist with stormwater, ROW, and utility relocation plans.
• Coordinate with project managers and other team members.
