Job summary

Lochner, now part of Egis, is seeking entry-level civil engineers to join our Indiana transportation team. You will work on complex design projects, create alignments and 3D roadway models, and perform pavement, traffic, and drainage calculations.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, review drawings and reports, and support construction through submittals and field visits. A BS in Civil Engineering and EIT within one year are required or anticipated, with 0–4 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering required or expected.
• EIT certification or ability to obtain within 1 year.
• 0–4 years of transportation engineering experience.
• Familiarity with OpenRoads and AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred.
• Working knowledge of DOT standards and procedures preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication; collaborative work with in-person and remote teams.
• Excellent time management and ability to deliver concurrent projects.

Responsibilities

• Work on complex transportation design projects in Indiana.
• Create horizontal and vertical alignments and develop detailed 3D roadway models.
• Perform engineering calculations for pavement design, traffic engineering, and drainage systems.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to prepare design drawings, reports, specifications, presentations, and cost estimates.
• Provide construction phase support by reviewing shop drawings, submittals, and responding to contractor questions.
• Conduct site visits to evaluate existing roadways and drainage systems.
• Maintain thorough and organized project documentation.
