Job summary

DOWL is seeking a Transportation Designer 1 in Anchorage, AK to perform entry-level design and drafting for transportation projects under supervision. You will collaborate with traffic engineers, develop basic 2D/3D drawings, and contribute to reports and cost estimates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• EIT/EI within 6 months of hire.
• Driving is an essential job function or license required to support business purposes.

Responsibilities

• Perform entry-level engineering calculations, design and drafting for transportation projects including sidewalks and bike paths, local roadways and intersections, highways and freeways.
• Assist with site visits, CAD drafting, geometric roadway layout and design, 3D modeling, and drafting project documents.
• Write project specifications, construct quantity calculations, and prepare cost estimates and project correspondence.
• Work under the guidance of a licensed professional engineer and communicate with team members.
