Job summary

DOWL is seeking an entry-level Transportation Designer 1 in Juneau, AK. This role focuses on basic engineering calculations, drafting sidewalks, roads, and related facilities, under guidance from senior engineers.

You will support road design efforts, prepare reports and cost estimates, and develop CAD skills with AutoCAD Civil 3D and MicroStation/OpenRoads in a collaborative team. On-site work and learning from licensed professionals are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• EIT/EI within 6 months of hire required.
• On-site work environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform entry-level engineering calculations, design and drafting for transportation projects.
• Assist with site visits, CAD drafting, geometric roadway layout and design.
• Prepare technical reports, specifications, and cost estimates under supervision.
