Job summary

DJ&A, a multidisciplinary transportation engineering firm in Missoula, MT, seeks a Transportation Design Engineer (Entry to Mid-Level) to join our western projects. The role emphasizes analytical problem-solving, proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D or MicroStation OpenRoads, strong communication, and collaboration within cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil Engineering or related field preferred.
• Experience in transportation design considered in lieu of formal education.
• Familiarity with AASHTO, MUTCD, NACTO, and State DOT design manuals.

Responsibilities

• Support transportation engineering designs for Local, State, and Federal agencies.
• Provide support for construction administration (in-office and on-site).
• Participate in design and delivery of roadway projects of varying size and complexity.
• Work on multidisciplinary teams in support and lead roles.
• Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D or MicroStation ORD to support project design tasks.
• Prepare project deliverables including quantity calculations, cost estimates, specs, and schedules.
• Perform QA/QC checks and ensure code compliance; follow QA/QC procedures.
• Occasional travel including overnight and weekend site visits; fieldwork may be required.
