Job summary

Exelon is seeking a motivated individual for an on-site Transmission System Operator role in Lombard, IL. You will train toward NERC and PJM certifications while performing routing, switching, and data analysis under supervision.

The position emphasizes field exposure and hands-on learning with operations teams. Minimum qualifications include a technical degree or equivalent experience, strong communication, and the ability to handle emergencies.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering or technical field; OR Associates in technical field.
• High School diploma AND 3-6 years of job experience, preferably in the electrical field.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Demonstrated analytical skills and judgment.
• Demonstrated ability to respond to emergencies and manage stressful situations.
• Candidate must be 'Recommended' on the SOPD test.

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned coursework and obtain NERC and PJM system operator certifications.
• Work with TSO Training to enhance knowledge of system operations and demonstrate proficiency to progress to TSO II.
• Support routing work, switching, logging, analysis of data, etc.
• Perform tasks such as initiating work requests for equipment problems and tracking outages.
• Maintain operating log and records of system status and events.
• Participate in field visits to learn equipment and processes.
