Job summary

Exelon Corporation in Lombard, IL is seeking a Transmission System Operator trainee to learn and perform routing, switching, and data analysis on electrical and computer systems. The role supports field visits and training to progress through NERC and PJM certification programs.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering or technical field; OR
• Associates in technical field: OR
• High School diploma AND 3-6 years of job experience, preferably in the electrical field.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Demonstrated analytical skills and judgment.
• Ability to respond to emergencies and manage stressful situations.

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned coursework and obtain NERC and PJM system operator certifications.
• Work with TSO Training and others to enhance knowledge of system operations and demonstrate proficiency necessary to progress to TSO II.
• Support routing work, switching, logging, analysis of data, etc.
• Perform assigned tasks such as initiating work requests for equipment problems, tracking outages, updating control room maps.
• Maintain operating log, interruption reports and records.
• Participate in field visits with operating company personnel to learn equipment/processes.
