Job summary

Exelon is seeking a Transmission System Operator in Lombard, IL for an on-site role. You will operate the electric system under supervision, complete essential training, and work with field personnel to learn equipment and processes.

The position requires obtaining NERC and PJM certifications and readiness for storms or emergencies. The role emphasizes safe operation, data analysis, and coordination with TSO Training, with potential long shifts during outages and energy delivery events.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering or technical field; OR Associates in technical field.
• High School diploma AND 3–6 years of job experience, preferably in the electrical field.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Demonstrated analytical skills and judgment.
• Demonstrated ability to respond to emergencies and manage stressful situations.
• Candidate must be 'Recommended' on the SOPD test and pass all required trainings (NERC/PJM).

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned coursework and obtain NERC and PJM system operator certifications.
• Progress to TSO II by demonstrating proficiency in communications, switching and protective concepts.
• Support routing work, switching, logging, data analysis, and control room activities.
• Initiate work requests for equipment problems and track outages.
• Maintain logs and records of system status and events.
• Participate in field visits to learn equipment and processes.
