Job summary

City of Marietta is seeking an entry-level Worker to assist with installation and maintenance of traffic signals, fiber optic networks, and related road infrastructure. Tasks include wiring, pavement work, pole setting, and sign maintenance, performed outdoors across all weather conditions.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, physical stamina, and ability to read blueprints. A valid Georgia driver’s license and safety certifications may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Experience with reading blueprints/plans is preferred.
• Ability to perform heavy manual outside labor in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Assist in installation of traffic signals and controllers at new intersections.
• Support maintenance of traffic signals, signs, and the fiber optic network.
• Perform manual labor tasks like cutting pavement, pouring concrete, and setting poles.
• Help with sign installation, painting road markings, and sign maintenance.
• Maintain tools and equipment in the signs and signals shop area.
• Support after-hours call rotation and troubleshooting of traffic devices.
