Job summary

Cornelis Networks is seeking an entry-level Thermal Engineer to support the design, simulation, and testing of thermal management solutions for next-generation Fabric platforms. You will collaborate with senior engineers to evaluate electronics cooling from component to system level.

The role emphasizes hands-on lab work, CFD/thermal simulations, and cross-disciplinary teamwork in a hybrid Wayne, PA environment.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering with a focus in Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer, Fluid Dynamics, or Thermal Engineering.
• 0-3 years of experience in thermal engineering (internship, co-op, or academic lab experience qualifies).
• Hands-on experience in a lab environment with thermal sensors and data acquisition.
• Familiarity with 3D MCAD tools (CREO preferred, SolidWorks acceptable).
• Familiarity with basic CFD tools and concepts (Cadence Celsius EC, Siemens Flotherm, or Ansys Icepak desired).
• Understanding of conduction, convection, heat sinks, and TIMs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; eager to learn in a cross-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Lab testing & validation: set up thermal measurements, apply thermocouples, DAQ, and collect data to validate designs.
• Simulate & model: assist CFD and thermal simulations including modeling, pre-/post-processing, and analysis.
• Component thermal design support: assist thermal design and evaluation of PCBs, heat sinks, TIMs.
• Data analysis & reporting: analyze data, summarize findings, contribute to test reports and guidelines.
• Cross-functional collaboration: work with mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing teams on design constraints.
