Job summary

Christopher & Banks is seeking an Assistant Technical Designer to support fit sessions and collaborate with the Product Development team to achieve the desired garment fit and aesthetic. This entry-level role measures samples, records fit observations, and maintains garment specifications in the PLM system, with on-site duties at C&B Operations’ facility.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Apparel Design, Textiles, Technical Design, or a related field, or equivalent coursework/experience.
• Experience from coursework, internship, retail, sample room, or related work is preferred but not required.
• Foundational knowledge of garment construction, sewing, patternmaking, and apparel terminology.
• Basic understanding of garment fit and measurement techniques.

Responsibilities

• Supports fit sessions by preparing samples, taking measurements, and recording comments.
• Assists Design and Product Development teams to achieve desired garment fit and aesthetic.
• Measures samples and compares results with fit specs and construction standards.
• Enters and maintains measurements, fit comments, and construction details in the database.
• Prepares pattern, fit, and construction comments for vendor communication under guidance.
• Keeps track of sample status and development timelines.
• Collaborates with Design, Product Development, Sourcing, and partners to ensure accurate specifications.
• Communicates professionally with partners.
• On-site work at C&B Operations’ facility.
