Job summary

PowerSecure is seeking an entry-level Switchgear Technician 1 in Durham, NC. The role focuses on assembly and fabrication of switchgear—from component level to completed product—including building the structure, wiring the back pan and doors, and installing breakers.

Ideal candidates will read electrical drawings, use hand tools, read a tape measure, and complete onboarding training. The position offers full-time hours with comprehensive benefits and the chance to grow in a manufacturing

Qualifications

• Ability to read and understand an electrical drawing and schematics.
• Proficient with hand tools and power tools.
• Able to read a tape measure and other measuring devices.
• Successfully complete the onboarding training program.
• Must be able to measure to 1/16th of an inch.
• Must understand torque values and how they relate to components.

Responsibilities

• Assemble switchgear from component level to completed product.
• Assemble low voltage, medium voltage and controls panels.
• Build structure, wire back pan and doors, and install breakers.
