Job summary

Prairie Engineers, P.C. is seeking an Entry-Level Surveyor to join our Midwest team. Based in Hannibal, MO, or other regional offices, you will work with experienced surveyors on boundary, topographic, LiDAR, and geospatial projects while progressing toward PLS licensure.

You'll perform field surveys, data collection, calculations, and prepare plats and legal descriptions under supervision, with travel across the region and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in surveying or related field, with licensure pathway interest.
• Willingness for overnight travel up to ~80% of assignments; outdoor work in varied terrain.
• Valid driver's license and insurable driving record.
• Interest in mathematics, technology, spatial reasoning, and practical problem-solving; attention to detail and safety.

Responsibilities

• Perform boundary, topographic, geodetic control, hydrographic surveys, and other specialized surveys.
• Learn to operate GNSS receivers, robotic total stations, and field data collection equipment.
• Collect field measurements and verify accuracy while following safety standards.
• Perform office calculations and process survey data; reduce field measurements.
• Prepare plats, plans, legal descriptions, and other survey deliverables.
• Support state and federal agency projects across the United States.
• Collaborate with surveyors, engineers, and geospatial specialists and grow responsibilities.
