Job summary

Prairie Engineers, P.C. invites an Entry-Level Surveyor to gain hands-on experience on diverse state and federal projects across the Midwest. You will work with licensed professionals, learn GNSS and robotic total stations, and contribute to plats and legal descriptions while pursuing licensure.

This full-time role blends fieldwork with office tasks such as data processing and survey deliverables. Travel is substantial; lodging and per diem are provided, with mentorship toward Professional Land

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in surveying or related field and licensure pathway interest.
Willingness to travel overnight on ~80% of assignments, with lodging and per diem provided.
Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record.
Interest in mathematics, technology, spatial reasoning, and practical problem-solving; detail-oriented and safety-conscious.

Responsibilities

Perform boundary, topographic, geodetic control, hydrographic, and other surveys.
Learn to operate GNSS receivers, robotic total stations, and field data collection equipment.
Collect and verify field measurements while following safety and quality standards.
Prepare plats, plans, and legal descriptions; process survey data in the office.
Support state and federal projects nationwide; collaborate with surveyors, engineers, and geospatial staff.
Take on increasing responsibility as skills grow and contribute to project deliverables.
