Job summary

T2 Utility Engineers in Minneapolis, MN is seeking a Survey Field Technician I to join our field crew. This full-time role offers on-the-job training in surveying and mapping, with no experience required and opportunities to grow within the company.

Responsibilities include loading equipment, setting up survey tripods, learning total stations, GPS, data collection devices, and supporting safety and daily tasks.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time (up to 2 weeks away).
• Ability to pass a pre-employment physical.
• Ability to stand and walk on varied terrain.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and operate survey equipment.

Responsibilities

• Loading and unloading survey equipment and supplies each day.
• Clean and maintain survey equipment such as GPS, Total Stations / Robotic Total Stations, levels, etc.
• Learn the operation of survey equipment; total stations, data collection devices, GPS equipment and digital/automatic levels.
• Setting up survey tripods to provide backsite and foresight operations.
• Cutting line.
• Perform safety set-up and flagging operations under the direction of Survey Crew Chief.
• Assist with daily vehicle pre-checks, cleaning, and completing truck sheets.
• Assist with monthly survey equipment inventory.
• Support Subsurface Utility Engineering services as required.
• Other duties as required.
